Fort McMurray – Red Cross, Alberta Fires Appeal

(May 10, 2016) NOTE: Since we wrote this blog, there has been a media update by Global News, the hard working fire and emergency crews were able to hold back the flames at key points, as much as 85 percent of the town of Fort McMurray remains intact! #YMMHeros

Global News’ aerial footage of the Fort McMurray devastation in Abasand and Beacon Hill communities.

(May 5, 2016) Our thoughts today are with all the residents of Fort McMurray and the surrounding communities. It’s heartbreaking. 88,000 people fleeing their homes. That is the entire population of the North Okanagan! We are overwhelmed at the resilience of the residents and the tireless dedication of emergency and fire crews.

If you have the means, please join us in offering your support to the Canadian Red Cross – Alberta Fires Appeal. #ymm
